4 & 5 Weeks till Kona – Behind Every Athlete

week-4-5-familyThis is far from a novel post, but it isn’t unique because it’s incredibly important to show appropriate appreciation for the support system(s) that hold up any athlete. For me, this starts with my family. They have traveled thousands of miles, waited countless hours for me to cross a specific part of a course, and endured the highs and lows of training and racing with me. Without the support they exhibit every day, there would be less of a reason for me to push through to the finish line.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have connected with some great companies that have supported me. week-4-5-kit

GLUKOS: If you’ve followed me even a little over the last 6+ months you’ve heard about GLUKOS Energy and how much I love their products. They get me through all of my training sessions and will be the fuel that propels me through the lava fields of Kona in less than 4 weeks. I’m working on the details of a GLUKOS give-away, so keep an eye out for information on how you could win some great products. Even if you don’t, give them a try. You won’t be disappointment!

ROKA: Thanks to the connection from a friend and company employee, ROKA was crazy generous to give me a Viper Pro Swimskin for Kona. I’ve had the opportunity to swim in it a couple of times and am super impressed! I didn’t have a lot of experience wearing a swimskin before, but from the few suits I have worn this is by far the best. I love the feel, compression benefits, and the cool zipper. No lanyard needed!

Love The Pain: If you’re looking for a new tri kit, definitely check out LTP! They did an amazing job on a custom kit for Kona, and it is one of the most comfortable kits I’ve ever worn. Being aero, comfortable, and looking great while out racing is going to be so much fun.

Cadence Running Company: Dan and Mary have become good friends over the last couple of years, and they run a great shop in Phoenix, AZ. The knowledge they have on all things running and tri is incredible!

Not pictured – Alyssa Godesky & Team HPB: Connecting with Alyssa, and the whole Team HPB crew, has been one of the best things that has happened for my training and racing in the last few years. Having this group of athletes to celebrate with, commiserate with, and be challenged by provides immense motivation and encouragement.

So to all the people and companies that have supported and helped me out, you will be a huge part of my inspiration and motivation in Kona. My ultimate desire is to represent these brands in an extraordinary way and make the sacrifices each individual has made to support me worth it. I’ll be racing by myself, but all of you will be ever present on my mind throughout the whole day.
